My Favorite Red Carpet Ladies

The Red Carpet was full of some pretty dress I thought, however, hands DOWN these two ladies were my favorite.

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton looked amazing. Such a classy actress! The coral colored dress with her bow pin on her hip, I loved everything about it.
I'm a huge fan of bows, so are you surprised I loved Michelle and Emma Stone? Emma Stones hot pink/reddish Giambattista Valli was simple but lovely and chic.

Who were your favorites? xoxo~Becca

Oscar Day!

Yay! Tonight the Academy Awards are on! Woo hoo! I wanted to post a little Sunday snapshot of awards day back in the 50's. Look at adorable Audrey Hepburn accepting her Oscar! How cute and simple it was back then. Oh, I hope see adorable stuff like this tonight! Remember, Natalie Portman all pregnant and glowing last year, she was adorable.

Happy Awards Day! xoxo~Becca

Elie for the Oscars

I'm dreaming that I am walking the red carpet tomorrow night. What would I be wearing? Elie Saab of course! The designer has created the most beautiful confection of gowns this year. The pastel prettiness below is to die for! Last year he dressed Mila Kunis in the pretty lavender dress, in 2010 he dressed Rachel McAdams and Anna Kendrick . Stunning!

If I wanted a little bright pop I might go for his designs below. It's the Oscars, dress it up!

I can't wait to watch tomorrow. I will be sitting on my couch with a glass of bubbly in hand, and Oliver by my feet to bark for which dress he likes the most.

The Bright Side

You know those mornings where you feel like life is the dumps. Where you think, I just want to lay in bed and not go anywhere? Life stinks. Why can't I just be happy! No? Well, that was my morning today for sure. I saw these posters on Elements of Style from A Vintage Poster and thought, I need one on the ceiling when I wake up every day!

Correct, life isn't that bad! I know. But you know in the blogging, facebook, twitter, pinterest world, some days seem like everything is rosy and wonderful. Perfect homes, perfect families, perfect smiles, well some days you wake up and think "Is this how I pictured my life?". Time to step back and look at the big picture of what is ahead of me and realize that it is fine. Like the print below, "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!". That is right. It's just a bad day, it will pass.

Tomorrow is the weekend, thank goodness!

Hey Florida Girls: Indie Craft Bazaar

Hi Florida Girls! I was so excited to have a wonderful friend of mine, the lovely Kasey D {amazing weddings!} mention this upcoming event to me. I am always looking for interesting finds, neat gifts, local and handmade items. I feel like South Florida is missing the adorable boutique that I use to shop through in Washington. With an Indie Craft Fair {think lots of Etsy designers in one place!} coming to Fort Lauderdale I couldn't be more excited. See the details below. I hope to see you there! Indie Craft Bazaar, this Sunday!

Kendra Scott Jewelry

Kendra Scott Jewels

How bright and cherry are these jewels? I know I'm in LOVE with these earrings, the rings, every piece from Austin based jewelry designer Kendra Scott! Since reading about Camille's party she designed for Kendra's store opening to seeing her earrings on every celebrity I have fallen in love with the colorful pieces. I am particular in love with the rainbow assortment of the Danielle earring but I also think the Eileen Feather earring needs a place in my jewelry closet. Which ones are your favorite?

Sweet Sunday

Happy Weekend everyone! I was travelling for work throughout the week and have been so glad to be at home for the weekend. This morning I ran the Fort Lauderdale A1A Half Marathon and since then I have been tired, sleepy and lazy. Mr. Oliver and I are hanging out at home and I thought it would be a perfect post to share the little sweetness that Laura and I posted on Floridian Weddings last week!

A few months ago Laura and I created a fun and sparkly photo shoot that was shot by Kat Braman. Last week the shoot was featured on one of my favorite blogs, 100 Layer Cake. Check out the entire post HERE.

Thank you to all of the amazing South Florida vendors that helped us with the shoot! After a 13.1 mile run today, I think I may have to treat myself to a little cupcake today:)

Happy Sunday! xoxo~Becca

LOVE YOU

Happy Valentine's Day!

To all of my friends, family, besties, readers, bloggers and everybody in my life {if that left out anyone;)}...HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! I love you! Lots of changes, lots of things going on, always busy, always something to scratch off the to do list, another crazy client, another long day, another flip flop that little Oliver has chewed up, but then I get home and receive a sweet Valentine's Day box in the mail from a bestie, I eat pumpkin pancakes with my Beau this morning and remember "Gosh, I'm a lucky girl full of lots of love". So to sound silly and sappy today...LOVE YOU! You are all the best. I hope your day is filled with candy hearts, a glass of bubbly, pink bows, chocolates and lots of kisses and love {puppy kisses are good too!}. HAPPY VALENTINE'S Day!

Happy Weekend!!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!

I know it has been quite some time since I have posted some of my favorite links from the week, so today I am back at it! Beau has the day off and I can't wait to spend the day with my boys {beau & Oliver} and I am promising to stay away from the laptop. So with a little time....here are some of my favorite posts! Happy Sunday:) xoxo

"Orange You Glad You Are My Valentine" from Twig & Thistle are the cutest Florida Valentine idea I have found. I pinned it so I won't forget this adorable idea for next year. A bowl of fresh Valentines!

I loved creating this inspiration shoot in my backyard, a surprise engagement!

I think I may be making this for breakfast on Tuesday.

How easy is this! Making adorable hearts around your yard for a party.

My sister made me an Ombre cake for my 30th birthday and I've been dying to try it out. This looks like a great idea.

I'm pretty excited I found this fabulous American blogger living in London!

Oh, read this post and you will be dying to go on a honeymoon....to Italy.

A girl scout inspired bridal shower with touches from Troop Beverly Hills! Yes, I'm in love!

I was so sad to hear the Whitney Houston passed away, really, sad. I heard this version of "How Will I Know" and it brought back memories of me as a little girl listening to Whitney in my older sisters room.

Everyone, have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy it, every second:)! I'm off to the dog park with the boys.

Rebecca's Recipes: Valentine's Day Pop Tarts

Happy February! Crazy I know, it is already February, I still have holiday decorations waiting to be put away in my garage, time flies! Well, it is February and it is time for Valentine's Day full of lovely sweets. I made these easy, delicious, adorable homemade pop tarts a couple of weeks for a photo shoot and I knew had to share with all of you. SO easy!

For the sake of ease use pre rolled, store bought pie dough, not the type in the freezer section, the type that you find by the refrigerated croissant dough. You can cut the small 1" hearts by hand or if you have a teeny cookie cutter, it is perfect!

I used Strawberry Jam because I love the big pieces of berries, but really, blueberry jelly, marmalade, any type of fruit preserves will work.

Ready to Bake!

Add a little Icing and...

they make the perfect addition to a Valentine's Day brunch! Not sure what February 14th brings for me, but these might be on the table.

The Full Recipe is below:

Homemade Valentine’s Pop Tarts

1 package of refrigerated pie crust

Glaze:

1 cup confectioners’ sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Sugar sprinkles for dusting

1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF.

2. Transfer the pie crusts to a lightly floured surface and cut it into 2×3 rectangles. It is easiest to measure the pieces with a ruler, score the crust with a knife and cut it with a pizza cutter.

3. Spoon about 2 teaspoons of strawberry jam onto one of the rectangles, leaving about 1/4 inch of space before the edge. Use a cookie cutter or paring knife to cut heart shapes out of the second rectangle. Then place the heart rectangle over the jam and seal the edges together with the tines of a fork. Baking on a cookie sheet for 8 to 10 minutes, then allow to cool.

4. To make the glaze mix the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in a bowl and add food coloring if desired. Drizzle the glaze over the warm pop tarts and sprinkle with sanding sugar.

{I used them for an adorable shoot for Floridian Weddings. I can't wait to share those photos with you soon!}
