Wedding Wednesday: Jessica in Pink

Happy Halloween everyone! I  know the picture below is nothing Halloween related but I couldn't wait  another day to share this beautiful photo with you {incase you some how seemed to miss it on every magazine stand in the grocery aisle}. Have you seen the spread of Jessica & Justin Timberlake's wedding in People magazine? I am SO in love with Jessica's pink gown and wow, she was a happy and gorgeous bride!
The happy couple celebrated with a weekend full of activities in Italy. Jessica's custom pink wedding dress was designed by Giambattista Valli, and from past posts of mine here, you may be aware that I am completely in favor of a pink dress! I have always envisioned myself walking down the aisle in a big white dress, however splashes of pink have been wandering into my dreams, hhhm:)

The entire rest of Jessica and Justin's wedding sounded quite romantic and amazing. Even though they are mega celebrities, while reading this article they just seemed like a normal girl and guy that are so in love. The way Justin described Jessica walking down the aisle, he serenaded her {my oh my!}, seemed like any other normal couple I talk with. They were so excited and ready to be Mr. & Mrs.! Congrats to the happy couple, what a beautiful wedding it looked like!

Halloween...1,2,3!

I have always been a huge fan of Halloween! Who doesn't love a reason to dress up as Rainbow Bright, Lady Gaga or Marie Antoinette for no reason at all. This year I am in Virginia at my parents {yes, I know, I'm still in the States, more later...} and I think we will be staying in watching The Birds and eating a little candy with my sweats and slippers on instead of a costume. Maybe my costume will be called, "Relaxed Rebecca", sound good? If I was dressing up this year I feel like I would be rushing around looking for a quick easy costume idea. Here are a few of my favorite quick and easy costume ideas for Wednesday's spooky day! I hope that Sandy doesn't ruin Boo Day!

For the kiddies Oh Happy Day! did an AMAZING job with these ideas!
How cute is her son as Strong Man!
If I had a little girl, I would be dressing her up as the Eiffel Tower!

Here were my two quick fixes from past Halloweens and they were two of my favorites!

Starbucks Barista - I ordered a Starbucks Apron on Ebay, used my coffee cup all night for my brew, threw on a fun wig, added a lot of flair, sported my Chuck Taylors and had a blast!

Princess Leia - This was a costume in a bag, yes it was. I have to say, one of the most fun costumes ever! The wig was a riot and kept making me think of the Rachel Friends episode. I cut off the long dress and added my leather boots, voila!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Mungo & Maud Store Visit

Right before we moved to London I was so excited to see a fun email pop up in my inbox inviting Oliver and I to visit the adorable store Mungo & Maud . Rebecca had found us through Oliver's feature over on the Pretty Fluffy and being that we were new to the city I thought it was the perfect chance to take Oliver on a little adventure.

After taking Sir Oliver on an hour double decker bus ride {he had a blast!} we found the adorable shop on Elizabeth Street, the same street as the famous milliner Philip Treacy, the luxury wedding dress designer Jenny Packham and the amazing cake company Peggy Porschen. I was excited to step inside the shop and find a beautiful environment that was such a change from the American big box dog stores.

Mungo & Maud is a luxury dog and cat accessories company based in London. Their focus is on stylish, timeless, high quality dog & cat items. Their products have a minimalist design and are made of natural materials such as cotton, wool, leather and linen. The shop sells a range of products from cotton dog beds, organic dog treats, feeding bowls and hand stitched leather collars.

The long wooden table that runs down the center of the store was lined with so many items that I would love to buy for Sir Oliver or as a gift. Isn't the basket full of Knitted Lion Dog Toys adorable?

I might need to head back to the store very soon to purchase a few of these adorable Portia Pebble Dog Toy for a few holiday gifts. Not only are they adorable but they also squeak which I know is a big hit with all of our furry friends!

Beautiful ceramic dog bowls {the pink was my favorite of course} and elegant leather collars are beautiful and simple and are the perfect addition to your puppy's life.

The store carries a selection of organic treats. I bought a bag of the seasonal pumpkin treats and they are packaged so pretty that they are quite a special treat for Oliver!

One of my favorite items at Mungo & Maud is the Pull My Leg Monkey Dog Toy. The toy is meant to be torn apart by your dog! The monkey's limbs are attached by Velcro which makes it perfect for them to deconstruct and play with.

Baskets of crocheted dog bones and balls are scattered throughout the store and all include a squeak! Oliver was a huge fan of these, a true test to how great the products are, doggy approved.

Not only is the store a great place to treat your dog, Mungo & Maud also offers a line of clothes for us, their best friend and their walker. These cashmere gloves and hat are a great accessory for the chilly mornings when you take them on a long walk. Having just moved from sunny Florida to London, I may need to add a pair of these gloves to my wardrobe for long walks with Oliver and maybe even a puffy vest.

Oliver was the perfect model for the Mungo & Maud dog beds ! I have never loved having dog toys laying in every corner of our home and attempt to keep them all stored in Oliver's basket. The same thing goes with a dog bed! These dog beds are stylishly designed and provide a comfortable place for your dog and a stylish piece to your home.

Thank you so much to Mungo & Maud for inviting me and Sir Oliver to the shop! {woof woof! Oliver thanks you too!} We can not wait to go back and stock up on some more adorable goodies for Oliver!

Mungo & Maud is also available online here. If you are in London visit their shop on Elizabeth Street, the shop-in-shop at Harrods or their soon to be opened shop in Notting Hill.

A month in the States- Part One

Before we decided to move to London, I had contracted a wedding in Miami and I also had agreed to help Elizabeth with a wedding in NYC this weekend. Once we made the decision to move to London I knew that I had to still move forward with both events. Then my older sister got engaged and set November 10th of this year as her wedding date. After many conversations back and forth Beau and I decided it was best if I just stay here in the States for a month. I will be honest, it has been a fun and exciting week and a half seeing friends, having some time to run and breathe and plan what is next for me in London. This being said, I miss Oliver and my fiance! Today Beau is moving into our new flat in London without me and I wish I could be there, but instead I am on the train heading to see one of besties from college and her new baby boy, Alex, I could be unpacking boxes ;)! What a month it will be and a month to remember for sure! I am trying to take it all in. What a way to start our engagement, a move to London and the Fall!!! Living out of a suitcase for a few months could be much worse, with all the fun adventures I guess I can't complain.

Becca the Nomad

So yes, I have been very quite over here in my corner of the blog world. Everytime I sit down to post I get distracted and can't post. I'm feeling a bit like a little nomad. I left London last Monday, flew to DC, the next day flew to Fort Lauderdale, stayed in Palm Beach, Miami and Fort Lauderdale, planned a wedding, met up with friends, flew back to DC and this week I will be in Philly and NYC. It is all very exciting and so fun to be here...but I am missing Frans and Oliver! Trying to appreciate this month of seeing my friends, catching up online and helping my sister with her wedding. Over the next few weeks I will be posting more, sorry I've been away, I'm back now!

This was the view from the rehearsal on Friday, pretty huh!

Feeling Like Goldilocks

We have spent two and a half weeks looking for a flat to live in. No, this photo below is not what we settled on, I walk by it every day on the way to the park with Oliver and WISH it was ours:)

I told Frans today I felt like Goldilocks. One flat will be too dark, the next too small, the next has a great kitchen but is too tiring {fifth floor with a dog, no lift!}, bathroom is too small but kitchen rocks, backyard is amazing but living space too small. When will we find JUST RIGHT!

I am to search for more flats, third appointment of the day. Dreaming of living at this flat above with a pretty yellow door! Wish me luck!
