Bali Basics : Honeymoon & Holiday Attire

In less then a month we are packing up our suitcases and going on quite the holiday! We are heading to Bali and I couldn't be MORE excited! No, it is not our honeymoon, we are heading out with Beau's family, however a basic, cute, holiday wardrobe is still much in need. I put together some of my favorites I've been eyeing and thought it would be perfect for any beach honeymooner or my trip in a month! Basic black pieces that you can wear on the beach or dress up for dinner with a big necklace, a basic black bikini and fun island like shorts outfit. Happy Holiday!

Happy Holiday and if you are off as newlyweds....HAPPY HONEYMOON!

Working Women: Make Merry!

Working Women. The women who inspire me to create my creative working life! I've featured Chartreuse Inc., Elizabeth Duncan Events and up today is the sweet and talented Laura from Make Merry!, a boutique company specializing in custom designed paper goods for weddings and special events. I was lucky to meet Laura a few years ago when living in Florida and start our wonderful site Floridian Weddings with her. Laura's creative mind and thoughts on creating the business you want has truly influenced me. Here is a little spotlight on what a wonderful women she is in the Biz!
When I first met Laura a few years ago, she was working a full time job and had her successful business, Make Merry! on the side. Laura was creating beautiful custom invites, maps and party decor for clients from NYC to Florida and when I found her blog, I immediately reached out to her and am glad I did! A few drinks later and her encouragement for us to create a Florida based wedding site and a few months later.....the start of Floridian Weddings! I had Laura help me with a few fun personal projects here, here and here but it wasn't until more exciting Floridian Weddings projects and real clients of mine started happening that I realized, hello, Make Merry! is fabulous!  Laura now has her full time business in West Palm Beach where she creates personal and unique bespoke designed items for your events. From weddings to baby showers, from moving announcements to web redesign, Make Merry!  knows how to put a little something extra special in it and make it your own.

Laura has a way of always telling her clients to stay true to YOU! You do not have to create the same invite you saw on Pinterest, the invite your friend did, the drink flags, the cocktails napkins, etc. Take  an idea you love, give it to Laura, she will customize it and make special for you!

I'm a bit partial on the design above that Laura and I created together for 100 Layer Cake. Seeing her spend the hours on these glitter invites made me understand her absolute tedious attention to detail, and that is what you want when you hiring someone for your big day!

Laura shares a creative studio space, The Grove,  with a few other Florida Wedding Professionals {Desiree, Kat & Jessica}. It was exciting to see her pour her love into the studio and just as exciting to see the beautiful work she creates for clients there.

Looking for invites for your wedding, reach out to Make Merry!  I admire Laura's determination to create the life she wants of working from anywhere and having fun clients. Creating business that she loves, I am inspired by her as one of my Working Women!

Monday Afternoon Blog Break

Good morning lovely ladies! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! It was a short weekend for me as I worked on Saturday. I had a wedding at work {you may have seen me tweeting little pics here}, we spent yesterday at one of my favorite neighborhood breakfast spots The Breakfast Club, spent some time on FaceTime, picked up the flat and relaxed a bit. I have TONS on my to do list from reaching out to wedding vendors to booking plane tickets for Christmas to getting myself fit for upcoming trip away!  Tomorrow I am going to Paris with my office...for the day, not too shabby right, so I'm finding it a bit hard to concentrate today. You too? Enjoy the links I rounded up this weekend with a
cup of jo, enjoy your week!

My friend Desiree said it perfectly, when she was at this wedding she knew I would LOVE it. She said it had my name written all over it. Full of balloons, pretty flowers and lots of glitter, Jessica Lorren captured it beautifully and Sarah Tucker planned it well!

I am dying to add a sequin blazer to my wardrobe this season! Anybody see a cute one, let me know.

Maddie the coonhound, have you see her? Oh wow, these pics are amazing and made me so happy.

Two recipes I have prepped for the week ahead: Heirloom Tomato Avocado Chickpea Salad & Creamy Roasted Gazpacho. Not full Paleo, but pretty close to it! Clean, healthy Bali bikini diet here I come.

Rhiannon at Hey Gorgeous partnered with BHLDN and created this lovely photo shoot. I love the Mr & Mrs chair covers. Inspiring my big day next year!

Oh please can I throw someone a 30th birthday as pretty as this moroccan themed luncheon

I'm heading to Paris tomorrow and this post and this post got me even more excited!

Happy week ahead! xoxo - Becca

A Weekend in the New Forest

Last weekend we got away to the New Forest and it was lovely! Only two hours from London, it was the perfect get away of long walks, visits to Pubs and exploring a new part of the country we have never been too. Get ready for photo overload!

A stop at the pub in Lynmouth to start the weekend away, accompanied by a pint, perfect.
Who knew that the actual Alice in Wonderland was based off a real girl who lived in this small little village?
We went to Lymington for a lunch of fish and chips at the Ship Inn which was right on the water and the perfect afternoon.
After a meal of fish and chips what is there to do? Long walks in the New Forest, that's what.
Back at our hotel at the Woodlands Lodge Sir Oliver had a blast running through the walled garden, barking at the hens and well, pretty much being the star of the weekend as usual.
The hotel was so pet friendly it was amazing. They even gave him a blanket and bone biscuit on arrival, doesn't get much cuter.
The next day we drove to the coast in Key Haven where we had no idea, but there was a huge boat race going on.
I was obsessed with the ceiling at the pub full of matchbooks!
We then decided to make our way to the place everyone was telling us about, The Pig, and oh my, so glad we did. The Pig was full at the Inn and had no dinner reservations available, however the courtyard with brick pizza oven was WELL WORTH IT, I want to move in.
A wall full of Hunter wellies, just in case you forgot yours!
We ventured out on almost three hour walk and ran into a lot of wild ponies along the way.
How amazing is the Pig's walled garden! They use all of their veggies in their restaurant, I love it!
We went back to the courtyard and ordered Courgette Fritters and Beau's favorite, Crackling with Apple Sauce. Accompanied by a bottle of vino, seriously I didn't want to leave.
I'm hoping we can make it back in the winter for a cozy night stay!
The last day there we drove to Lynmouth for coffee and one more long walk with more wild horses! I was amazed at the amount of horses and ponies just roaming free!

Highly recommended as a get away weekend! xoxo - Becca
